Introduction
World Journal of Biomedical Research is an official publication of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, University of Uyo, Uyo, Nigeria. Her vision is to pool together the rich resource of knowledge that emanates from our Research Scientist from the various fields of Medicine and Biomedical Science in a systematic and reproducible form. It is published biannually. It publishes original laboratory and clinical research articles, case reports, short communication, letter to Editor and technical reports in all fields of Medicine, Basic Medical Sciences, and Allied Medical Specialties such as Nursing, Medical Laboratory Sciences and other related areas. The journal also reviews important new developments or controversial issues in any of the mentioned fields through invited contributions from recognized authorities.
Call for Papers
Manuscripts for publication should be in Medical Specialties, Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Medicine, Paramedical areas such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Medical Laboratory Sciences and other related areas.
Manuscripts should conform to uniform requirements for manuscripts submitted to biomedical journals (published in BMJ, 1997, 314: 1-10). Manuscripts for submission include original articles, review articles, case reports, short communication, letters to the editor, images in medical practice and technical reports.
All manuscripts must be in English. They must be typed on A4 paper size page, double space, times new roman font size 12 with margins of at least 25mm and must be numbered consecutively, beginning with the title page. Each section should begin on a new page. The manuscript should not exceed 3,000 words. They should include the following sections in the outlined sequence.
- Title page: This should include the title of the article, the surname first and middle initials of each author with institutional affiliations and addresses and e-mail of all authors corresponding author.
- Abstract: this would be a structured abstract not exceeding 250 words, original research article should contain the following sections:
- Background: this provides a brief background to the study including its justification.
- Objective: contains the aim of the study.
- Study design: settings, subjects and/or materials and methods: this section gives a broad description of the type of study, the site where the study was carried out and the participants/subjects/materials used in the study. Intervention (if any) should also be included here.
- Results: these include the main outcome measures and also outline the main findings from the study.
- Conclusion: this gives the main conclusions and major recommendations (if any) of the study.
- Keywords: three to six keywords for indexing and retrieval purposes.
